Holy SHIT SLIPKNOT IS BACK!!!
Kicking off the MAYHEM COncert Tour for 2008 Seattle Auburn Washington.
This is your ditch weed seed cleaner (cub) reporter Teddy Trunk Jr reporting for MTV nudes and Hugh Tube bringing you the latest slam on the summer concert activities.
Vol. 1 Mayhem Fest.
Featuring Airbourne- Machine Head- Mastadon - Dragon Force - Distrurbed - SlipKnot

Even the opening Jagr Stage band Xfactor-1 from C-Bus is excellent! Got to meet C-lok the lead guitr plyer they aredeep in respect for Dimebag and their music reflects it. Hear them on www.theBESTrockonline.com FOR CERTAIN.
Looks like Energy drink motorcycle show meets Disneyland - without the rides.
Pretty fun to watch cycles doing flips while bands are playing.
Did not see all the bands but saw a good mix of talent. Airbourne was rocking, Suicide Silence was rocking and both 5 Finger Deathpunch and 36 Crazyfists were bringing it. At least from where I was it appeared NOBODY tanked it. And if you want to feel old go meet Black Tide they are great considering they are ll about 12!!! I think lead guitar is 15 so actually they are quite old school!

What is extra cool is getting to meet the bands at the booths while out shopping for I love Vagina T-shirts at Big Dave's booth and Charles Manson T's for donating to cancer research.
You know marketing has reached the full pinacle of excellence when Charles Manson is being sold to raise money for Women's Cancer research!!!
It appears for the first year event they have really gotten it together, it was a well run show. A little slow getting started but I think to be expected for first run out the gate.
MAstadon hit the stage about 4:30 and got the crowd going, Then Dragon Force I missed a lot of that had to catch MACHINE FUCKING HEAD close Stage 2 the Jagrmeister stage.
Machine Head missed Seattle last time through - Rob Flynn had a bad respatory thing going. So they really made up for it with a wicked hard set that the people were hugely getting off to. That was the show of the day in my opinion. They didn't have enough time to get to Aethetics of Hate but they got an old school hit or two in there and really seemed to be enjoying the show.
Anyone else is welcome to add their comments!!
Disturbed was on target. They have a finely oiled machine it was great to see them live. I love thier live show and sound it makes them WAAAAY better than just listening to their albums.
I have a better appreciation for Dusturbed now. And a great fan base lots of people enjoyed seeing them.

Before they kicked off some babe was doing "Mardi Gras Howdy" raising her shirt up for a select few, but the crowd response was enormous and at least 5,000 guys were trying to get a peek and cheering her on. Sounded more like a hockey goal when the tatas came out - a thunderous roar from the crowd.
They wanted more and they got it!
I think that is a great "Family Mix" of bands for the show, something for everyone.
But SLIPKNOT!!!
That was thier first show in 2 and a half years s o look out everybody by the end of this tour there will be casualties!!!
A few mic glitches but otherwise they brought the pain, the PIT was awesome and the Pulse of the Maggots was present.
Set list included, Prosthetics,Psychosocial, Duality ,All Hope is Gone, Surfacing, Spit it Out, (Sic) People=Shit, The Heretic Anthem, Before I Forget, The Blister Exists, Disasterpiece.
Had the drum kit going with Joey at the encore, but the new mask for Joey and how he slams those drums without moving that is awesome but he looks like he has the flu or something I don't know.
Corey's new mask is very cool, Clown was most excellent, beating the beer keg then shushhing the victim, it was epic!

The Billboard Q&A: Ministry's Al Jourgensen

March 31, 2008
Christa Titus, N.Y.
After 27 years, 13 albums and one lost digit (a toe), Al Jourgensen is pulling the plug on influential industrial metal band Ministry. In typical fashion, Ministry's last hurrah is unconventional.

The group is releasing a covers album -- "Cover Up," April 1, on Jourgensen's 13th Planet Records -- as its final body of work, putting its gritty spin on rock staples like "Under My Thumb" and "Radar Love." It makes for an interesting choice for a band whose last three albums have been dedicated to bashing President Bush. Ministry also began bidding adieu to the road March 25 with its C-U-La Tour that includes special guests Meshuggah and Hemlock.

Billboard.com caught up with Jourgensen to pick his brain about the disbanding.

Why did you decide to make the final Ministry album a covers record?

I didn't wanna go out with just three Bush albums, shakin' my fist in the air, tellin' everyone what a prick he is. I wanted to remind people that, "You know what? Ministry's a pretty good fuckin' rock band, too." And no politics, you know, no fist-shaking. No screaming and all that shit. I wanted to go out with a party record.

Was there a particular moment when you decided that it was time to end Ministry or was it gradual?

I did not wanna have to make three, ya know, Bush-bashing records, but the idiot kept getting re-elected. And I just figured after the last one... it was time, it's right. We're on our game. The last three records have been great -- I think -- and you know, it was just time we all rode off in the sunset together. We gotta get a new chapter in this country, man. This is just ridiculous.

Having gone through nearly 30 years with this band, how would you say you'd like Ministry to be remembered?

I'm just glad we're gonna be remembered by doin' this kick-ass cover album at the end. Just let everyone know, "Yeah, we can actually play.

We're not just all politics and anger and shaking your fist in the air and stomping about and being all mean and aggro. It's like, I don't really care what we're remembered as. I know in my heart that that band was relevant for 30 years... If you're [in something] for 30 years, a lot of shit happens in society, right? And basically my shit's always been pretty much social commentary and we've somehow managed to stay relevant. That's all you can ask for

Opeth - Hard & Heavy Spokane - 2008/05/12 12:10 Damn PC's can't find the report I just wrote Hey Bill Gates you are a twat in case you forgot!!!
Off night gig from the Dream Theatre Tour, Opeth stopped by The Big Easy and rocked like never before.
Opening was "3" Dealer's tattoo!!! and "Between the Buried and Me"
Anyone who knows these bands is aware of the skill level of these musicians.
Set was similar ro Portland I think there was 1 more at the beginning but the head banging was predominant they only played 1 slow tune. Lighting and sound was BETTER than album quality really fantastic.
Then Michael says " Bow your heads for Darrell" before they bust into "The Baying of the Hounds"
Met some fantastic folks from Spokane and Montana - you know who you are - it was a great night one of the BEST.
Took them some Bar BQ and bottles of Jagr,Crown and idaho cane juice vodka. Got to meet the head tech and the road mgr so it was a fucking great night.
DON'T MISS THIS SHOW if you care about music in the slightest- go see Dream Theatre if you have to just to catch these guys bringing it you will not be sorry.

Bound By The Road Devil Driver Tour 2008 - 2008/04/21 02:27 Here is Dealer's review of Houston show

Sup man,

The show this weekend was absolutely brutal. It was an all day "Metal Fest" that started at 9am and lasted till about 1:00am. We didn't arrive until about 7:30pm and walked around to the busses. Ran into that one bald dude that is with the road crew. I dunno if he's the manager or what but he's who I always run into first. He bullshitted around looking for Miller while we grabbed all the goodies. We waited not too long and Miller came walking up to the bus. I stopped him and he remembered me and I told him he's got some eating to do. 3lbs of brisket, 2lbs or sausage, and a whole chicken! And of course some sides and bread to go along. Also gave him a bottle of crown and made sure he knew this was all coming from Starmadillo Radio Hugh rockin in non stop. He was pretty blown away with all the stuff and we told him have a kick ass show and went on our way.

I wasn't a huge fan of any of the other bands I saw but god damn DD put on one hell of a show. Before we went in I told Racheal 3 songs I wanted to hear and they played them all. Fucking stellar! I had Racheal wearing my RFD vest since I was in the pit most of the time. Toward the end of the show I ran over to her and grabbed the vest and pushed my way towards the front. At the end of These Fighting Words I held up the vest and showed it to Dez and then turned to the crowd. People were patting me on the back and yelling "Hell ya" all around me. All of a sudden I see Dez come over towards me and says "Let me see this". I handed him the vest and he held it up for the crowd and said "I remember this". He didn't have his vest on so he threw mine on and said "I love this mother fucker" and went straight into Hold back the day...

When the song ended Dez took of the jacket and threw it back at me as I came out of the pit. As I went to grab it some jack ass next to me reached out and grabbed it as well. He started pulling REAL hard and going towards the ground. Soon as I noticed his head was down I put him in a head lock. I started to choke him out when two guys from behind grab me and start pulling me away. I clinch on to the vest as I'm being pulled away and I can't see it through all the people, only feel it as I loose grip. Soon as I lost grip I get out of the arms of the guys holding me and look around for the dude with my vest. I didn't see him so I haul ass for the exits and make sure he's not leaving with my vest. As I get to the exit I see Racheal and him and like 5 security guards. Racheal is screaming "he stole me vest, he's stealing my vest." and I come running up yelling "this is my vest and this fucker tried to steal it. Security quickly gives Racheal the vest and grabs us both and starts pulling us to the exit. We get out the door and I'm telling security thank you for the vest and what happened but why are you kicking us out? They told me we all had to leave because they didn't want problems. I told him I got in with the band crew and asked if I can come back in the same way I did earlier and he said no problem just go in the way you came. I asked him if they kicked out the guy who tried to steal my vest and he said security took him out another door. Then he says "see, he's right there" and in front of me is this asshole. I go walking over to the guy and tell him he's a piece of shit for trying to steal my vest and if he'd like a good ass kicking to meet me across the street....lol I was i little tipsy.... Racheal pushes me a side and says let's get back in before anything else happiness so we head for the back door. We got back inside but I guess they ended there set. I'm pretty sure we only missed one song so I wasn't to pissed.

We took off after that with the vest in hand and memories of Dez putting on my vest and singing his balls off while reppin Dime. We had one hell of a blast bro and we took care of the boys for ya. Can't wait to see them again and hopefully next time with you. Take care bro and keep in touch.

Ace Frehley - The BEST !! - 2008/03/25 18:33 If you get a chance to see this show you must go. Ace is better than ever and if you are sick of Gene and all his Hollywood shenanigans, do not take it out on Ace.
Turns out he wrote ALL the great hits Kiss ever did, why he doesn't get more credit must be because he got loaded and partied but all those great songs with super guitar riffs are Ace's.
Parasite,Deuce, Cold Gin, the list is long. He plays them all along with his classic solo stuff, Back In the New York Groove, Trouble Walkin' ,Five Card Stud, Rocket Ride, it's all there.
It was truly great to see him sober and on the road again we missed you Ace!!
You don't have to sing "Rock and Roll all Night" one more time or anything.
He even made a funny impersonation of Paul regarding "Thunderous Applause"

You can see and hear clearly how and why Dimebag would tatt the man on his chest and why Kiss was such a HUGE success. I would get him to do Ride For Dime 4 if it was me seeing as how Dio isn't making it. I think he wouldn't like all the whiskey we drink but he drank a couple oceans full in his time so he could have a pass.

Anywho, if you want to rock and you want to see still crazy old Kiss fans (I thought I was old) check him out rock fans, Ace will not let you down.
opening act The Trews and Paid Under Envy bring the straight ahead rock and roll to get the night going it is a fun evening of rock.

Stone Cold Wasted avec Hell Yeah! - 2008/02/27 14:45 Caught the MAchine Head - Hell Yeah tour as it came through Spokane Seattle and Portland.
Three fun filled nights with the "Pit" Bull Micheal DPR that guy can destroy a pit and everyone in it.
Started out first though with EXODUS on Thursday night and the mighty mighty GoatWhore!! They truly kick it better than on the album when you catch them live. You can't go wrong with a band name like that!!!
Nonpoint from Ft. Lauderdale and Bury Your Dead warmed thing sup for HEll Yeah and had to fill in Sat . night as MAchine Head singer Rob Flynn came down with the broncial throat plague and had to sit Saturday in Seattle.
Tried to hand with DPR in the pit for MAchine Head Saturday night that was ridiculous. Didn't stick around Saturday eiother after the bouncer came up and described how if you did not pay attention to his signal to push away or get a suicided kick to the head.
All in all a tremendous trip a great to see all the different venues and attitudes.
PRetty much all the fans are seriously "Beatlemania"for the boys- trying to get an autograph and such, they really represent today's BEST party attitude band.
So many and almost all bands are into heavy heavy stuff and not too much "whiskey and Weed" . I think a lot of people miss the whole point, but overall Vinny Paul's production and promotion genius makes this better than most albums and shows these days. For a band to headline with 1 album out is completely amazing and says a lot about how great these guys are.
Chad was digging on the small venue in Seattle at first it was shocking as they have been playing such large venures, but as he says it was THE BEST show of the tour becasue of the old school packed house that it was. If Vinnie stands on the drums he's hitting his head on the roof. DPR was in the front, I was in the back and that was about 15 people deep max. !
So the one cover song they play is "STone Cold Crazy"
by Queen but they change it up a bit to Stone Cold Wasted, and when I heard that I laughed becasue that is the song I sang the only time I kareoke in El PASo.
Well that left me with my "STone Cold Wasted" scar down the front o f my right shin.
So it occured to me in Portland the last night when we were hanging with the boys and thanking them for the great time, that I needed to get them to autograph my scar. Chad was not there so I missed him but caught Vinnie, Tom GReg "Chicks DIg Scars" and Bob Zilla.
What a great bunch of fucking guys I will never forget how great they were and soon you will see my new tattoo posted here!!!
If you get a chance to go see these guys go for it you will not regret it.
GReat to hang with the mighty mighty DPR!!!! Click this link to rock with the BEST.

Re:Bound By The Road Devil Driver Tour 2008 - 2008/04/21 02:40 Here is my experience in Colorado Springs April 16,2008

DEVILDRIVER UPDATE -Colorado Springs - April -2008

Heading towards the end of "Bound By The Road" part 1 of the 2008 Tour. Onl two more shows to do before heading overseas to work the "Defenders of the Faith" gigs with Opeth, Arch Enemy and Three Inches of Blood.
Then to St. Petersburg and Moscow for a quick stop, Astonia and a few more through Europe into May.
Let me go on record as stating that the Russian exposure is going to be great for the band they will get to meet some real metal fans there.

Did not even know if I was going to make the show, cruised into town in the newly repaired MOTHERSHIP '84 Holiday Rambler Imperial I couldn't get past Albuquerque on the start of the tour. I was trying to tag up with them earlier on.
Also tried to get to Denver to se the show the night before but no such luck. Picked up the sled in ABQQ Monday, got to see Ministry there, that was a great show.
So I was there real early, met the bus's as they rolled in from Denver.
Got with legal counsel , the Springs is home to my lawyer - who also is an owner of "The Wave" on 6th in Austin. If you are ever there check it out.
Randy hooked me up with the BEST Bar B Q in town and we scored some liquor for all and headed back to camp. (The Black Sheep 2100 block East Platte Colorado Springs)
Dished out some Q introduced the Mothership to the gang.
Dez used to go camping in one just like it! Wait till I get it tricked out - should be great - it was good to have them see it in it's raw natural original state before I rip it to shreds.
Fed the crew, kept some Q for the after show as well, but I have to say those are some hungry crew members!!!
Once the word got out there was nothing left of the buffett.
Brought my "Napalm Death" poster and Miller got them to sign it for me THANKS JON !! that bad boy i going up in the studio permanently.
Got to meet and hang with girlfriends of some of the band and chill through sound check. Their bus is a wee bit nicer than the MOTHERSHIP I must say.
But the driver Tom and the entire DevilDriver crew is SECOND to none, it was fantastic to see them again.
It it most excellent to see and hear them play an extended set as headliner
Napalm Death tore the shit up old school hard core style the fans loved it and they were a great band to see with DD.
